A Simple Wedding by Leigh Duncan

A wedding destination any bride-to-be would love

When the residents of Hearts Landing get wind of a "True Hearts Landing Bride" in their midst, they are all eager to help her plan her perfect wedding. The only problem - the bride is a fake!

This charming story is told by alternating perspectives, of Nick - a baker in Hearts Landing - and Jenny - assistant and cousin to a famous actress. With an interesting twist, this beautifully written Hallmark romance is as sweet as wedding cake and one book you don't want to miss!

Publication Date: March 10, 2020

My thoughts/feelings:

In complete honesty, I do not enjoy Hallmark movies. (I know - you're probably appalled right now). But it's OK because in the last four months, I have read three Hallmark books and have LOVED them all. I now actively seek out books from Hallmark. So when Leigh Duncan reached out to me on Instagram to ask if I would like to review this book, I was not only honored but also overjoyed at the prospect.

I enjoyed this book so much that I read it in two sittings. Most of the characters are likable and fun, while one in particular drove me bonkers! The town of Hearts Landing sounds so sweet, with streets and businesses with wedding themed names - it is the perfect town for a dream wedding.

If you don't already know, I love food! I'm always excited when books include actual recipes, and this book includes a recipe for lemon bars at the end! After all the delicious food described in the book, it was a treat to have a recipe I could make for myself.

Favorite Quotes:

"That was the problem with secrets and lies. One led to another and

then another. Pretty soon, it was hard to keep them straight."

(I realize that it is insane that I did not have a favorite quote from the book that is romantic in nature. What can I say? I was enjoying the story so much that I forgot to mark quotes that I like. If you read this book, please comment with some of your favorite quotes!)

Thank you so much to Leigh Duncan for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.
